Ocean Glass Inn

Me and my partner stayed here for a couple of nights. We understand it is under new ownership. It was renovated. We had a double queen room. Very clean. The water pressure in the shower was awesome with plenty of hot water. Has a great local beach motel vibe while being modern and comfortable. We found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. We were attentive and available. We found it to be very gay friendly and family friendly with a good mixed crowd staying there. Don't expect a full breakfast it was basically cereal and some breads. However, right across the street is a super breakfast restaurant with excellent prices, food, and service. Finally, the location is great. Right at the gateway the beach. The boardwalk is a 20 minute walk with shops and restaurants along the way. Starbucks 5 minutes away. Tanger Factory Outlets are nearby as well.

This is the second year we've stayed at The Ocean Glass Inn. We loved our first trip last year. This time, I booked in January for a stay in June. When I tried calling a week prior to our trip, the call wouldn't go through because the phone had been disconnected. Through calling the local visitor center, we learned that the establishment has recently been purchased but still operational. We confirmed our stay. The rooms are still clean and nicely decorated. The inn is within a 15-20 min walk to the Rehoboth boardwalk. Parking is easy. Everyone on staff was auper kind, helpful, and courteous. With that said, I noticed a few things I hope new owners and management can take care of. One of the lamps in our room had no bulb, and the fan in the room had no cord. This was reported, but never fixed during our stay. Additionally, the old owner had breakfast set up so nicely with homemade mini quiches and muffins, donuts, a great coffee selection, fruits, and a wide variety of cereals. Unfortunately, now the breakfast was very, very lack luster. One kind of cereal, a few packages of oatmeal, and a couple of mini donuts. Worst, no one knew how to work the coffee machine. I hope this is just because of the transition period. Please keep and improve the breakfast because the nook you have is too adorable of a space to waste.

I stayed at the Ocean Glass Inn at the end of May 2025 for a girl's weekend. There are a few things you should consider prior to booking here.

1. You may get the cold shoulder if you arrive earlier than check-in time.

We had no expectations of checking in early. In fact, that’s how we started off the conversation at registration. We then asked for approval to sit in the common area for a few minutes before heading back out. The woman at the front desk, who happens to be the owner, said nothing, which prompted us to explain our reasoning of a quick break from the heat before trekking back out.

2. Only one car is allowed.

After the initial conversation, it felt like asking too much to park a second vehicle when we were given only one parking pass. While we were offered overflow parking, the owner mentioned that it’s not always a guarantee.

3. The breakfast is terrible.

Do not get incentivized by the free breakfast. There was no fresh fruit; only the packaged sealed cup was available. They had some small boxes of cereals, store bought pastries and frozen reheated breakfast sandwiches. Due to the lack of fresh food options, I would much rather go to a local restaurant that serves breakfast; there are several in the area. Even a grocery store trip would have been better option.

4. Late night loud music.

Diego’s Bar is across the street. If you are looking to turn in early and/or have a quiet night, you should think twice about staying here. If you are looking for a party atmosphere, then this is a moot point and may be a positive attribute.

At nearly $250/night for a one-night stay, during the middle of May, I am not staying here again for the reasons listed above.
