We visited Heirloom restaurant this past weekend. One of my favorite places in Lewes downtown. This place continues to impress me every time that I eat there. We visited for a special occasion and it didn’t disappoint!! Met the wonderful owner Meghan Lee. Now I understand why this place is my favorite. She is so passionate about it and puts her soul into every nook and cranny. So much excitement talking to her on how she came up with delicious food idea. Highly recommend the Cheese and Charcuterie board! Just writing this review makes me salivate for their food.

To be honest I was expecting more from this restaurant. The positives were our server Perfecto who was attentive and had a great personality. The

- Mezcal Negroni was excellent.
- Green Gazpacho with lump crabmeat was totally missing the lump crabmeat (zero crabmeat). Waiter said it was under the tzatziki - it was not. Didn’t feel like arguing.
- Spinach salad was very good.
- Steak entree was perfectly cooked and had a nice presentation.
- Mahi was pedestrian.
- Dessert - we were excited for the ice cream sandwich (peach ice cream!) but the cookie part was so rock hard that I couldn’t cut it with a steak knife (was sharing w my wife).

Where the restaurant lost two stars was for the way the dining room very poorly run. The dining room staff is basically untrained, and general dining room experience is poor. I may sound picky to some but with $15drinks/$15 apps/$38 mains/$14 dessert, you expect a trained level of service. I asked for pepper and an empty pepper shaker was provided (no fresh pepper) - I mention this because when. I worked in a restaurant we refilled salt and pepper every night after service. When bus staff collected plates and silver they stacked them on the table and loaded up silverware on top right under our noses. The bare wood table was never wiped between the three courses (sweating glasses, bread crumbs). Table not cleared of condiments before dessert.

This is a shame because the chef/kitchen is putting in some darn hard work.

Lovely spot with great and attentive service. Our group of 8 had mixed reviews of the food. Most dishes were very good and one or two rave-worthy. Mushroom appetizer was outstanding. Cod with mushrooms was bland and didn't have clear flavors. My friends said similar things about the catfish.
