With six miles of Atlantic Ocean coastline between Dewey Beach and the Indian River Inlet, this popular park includes ocean and bay beaches with bathhouses for public swimming, surf fishing, surfing, skimboarding, kiteboarding and sailboating. At the inlet, Delaware Seashore features a large campground plus the 295-slip Indian River Marina with charter and head boats for ocean fishing trips. All summer long, soon after sunrise, playful dolphins patrol the shallow waters just beyond the surf line. Stroll along the quiet beach as these beautifully sleek creatures leap and dive just a few hundred feet away. Open daily 8 a.m. to sunset. Entrance fee May through October and annual vehicle permits available. Located on Route 1 between Dewey Beach and Bethany Beach. This seems to be a little-known spot. We went mid-morning and there weren't many people there. It was a very clean walk to the beach. It was so cool walking under the bridge. Parking was very reasonable. The campground looks like a great place to stay as well.

This beach is a great family space, with entering fees less than $10. Despite the hot weather, we had no issues finding parking or beach space. The beach is lifeguarded until 5 pm.

The sand is coarser than Rehoboth and McBride Beach, with more sea fleas (harmless). Jellyfish in deeper wading waters stung several patrons mildly, with pain levels akin to stinging nettle. We found more shells here than Rehoboth and McBride.

We live in Delaware actually and camped here for the first time mainly for the beach and fishing. Was very nice, quite, awesome sunrises and almost see a complete sunset. It was mother's day weekend so thats why the beach was quiet! The camp host couple was very nice!
