Atlantic Oceanside Dewey Beach Resort

Stayed here for my birthday weekend and immediately felt disappointed the moment walking up the stairwell to our room. First, the stairwell smelled filthy. All they need to do is give it a good power wash but it wreaked like a trash truck with spilled old beverages/dropped food/build up on the steps and walls. Smelled like you were walking behind a trash truck. Upon walking in the room, the AC unit sounded like it was about to blow up and to make it stop you had to hit the AC unit or put something on top of it. The floors were absolutely filthy. You could tell all they do is a quick change of bed sheets and wipe the counters because the bathroom mirror still has toothpaste on it from the people before. For over $1,200 plus a daily parking fee for 3 night stay, was NOT worth it and ruined my experience and opinion of Dewey. I ended up asking service for extra towels to clean the floors myself so we felt somewhat comfortable walking around without shoes on to the bathroom sink after our showers. Was surprised by how many young drunks filled the town too. Must’ve been college kids on summer break but were woken up around 2am on Saturday night to them banging on the door outside. Asked for an iron 2 times and were told HK would bring it to us and never did so we had to keep harassing the front desk for one. Also came back after dinner one night to no parking spots in the lot we were paying for. We parked in front of the doggie pee area and I got a call at 3am to move my car… where else do you want me to park my car when I’m a guest AND paid for parking? I hope they get it together.

First of all, I dont know what happened since about two years ago maybe 3 but 70$ just to park on the property you just booked a hotel at is crazy. Second, I've been going to dewey for 8 or 9 years now and I will say this has been the worst experience I have ever had. The light switch in the room was broke and they had a guy come up and look at it say we dont have one to fix it sry and left. Ants all over the place and the drain in the bathtub was half clogged, you were taking a bath while showering. The place was not the same as when we were there a few years ago. Half a roll of tp when we got into the room, nothing more, just a half a roll. If you need an air mattress it is 15$ a night too. On top of that.......the teens and others were so crazy all week, my kids were scared at one point. Every night from 2 to 4 am they were running up and down the walk way banging on doors and blowing air horns, leaning on cars that were not theirs, and literally jumping into the pool from the second floor walkway into the pool. The pool was dirty, cigarette buds and wrappers in it. I ended up having to net everything out myself because I couldn't take it. Then there was the front desk... well if you have the same problems that we did and were not able to sleep well.. that's to bad. It's not their problem, they told us, it's because of pride month and college's out and seniors graduating. They couldn't do anything about it. The horrible "manager" said, "its just how dewey is"... from a professional standpoint they are suposed to uphold the peace as a quiet stay rule but they told us nope, all we can do is ask them to keep it down not make them stop... very unprofessional. The manager was very rude with my wife... would not refund anything but the the 70 dollar ridiculous parking fee and that was it. So save your time, money and vacation. Book somewhere else like the Bay Resort up one block and across the road because this was a complete waste on my 5 day vacation.....

I booked this hotel and it was an amazing room with an amazing view until I seen the bathroom. The bathtub was yellow and had specs of dust seeming to not be cleaned. I later then saw a spider hanging behind the door and another large spider hiding beneath a tower on the floor of the bathroom. I asked the staff if there was anyway someone could re-clean the bathroom or get bug spray, they offered bug spray but still did not feel comfortable in the room after especially for the price. I asked again if somebody could re clean and they said there were no more janitors and that they couldn’t leave the office due to safety issues. I suggested a new temporary room and they were very hesitant but ended up giving us a new room. We got to the new room and there were left overs such as old food and spoiled milk along with a hair on the bed. I loved the room itself and the location of it just wished it was cleaner.
