TAVERN TALKS- On the Lawn: Suffrage Starts with You!
Immerse yourself in 1920 during this unique outdoor Tavern Talks - On the Lawn: Suffrage Starts with You! This entertaining and educational program will feature prohibition-era refreshments, live music, furnished by local Cape Henlopen High School students, interactive suffrage debates, in-character speeches by some of our historic interpreters, and crafting sessions for children and adults.
This event offers attendees the opportunity to interact, from 6 feet apart, with the Lewes women who worked tirelessly to change the course of history. Be aware! Dissenters will lurk among you, as not every Delawarean was keen on the women in white. Take part in this historic conversation and celebrate the centennial of the passing of this most auspicious 19th Amendment!
With each $20 ticket purchase, individuals will receive prohibition-era packaged refreshments, a commemorative suffrage pin, a commemorative event poster, a commemorative suffrage sash, and a commemorative event booklet. (Children 12 and under are FREE.)
