Lavinia: The Musical
Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater will host Doing Time with Lavina: The Musical and a Live Cabaret Show on Saturday, July 12 at 3 pm & 6 pm followed by a one-hour Live Cabaret “Saturday at The Stonewall, featuring Susan Campanaro, Paul Maisano and Lynn Portas. This special event is presented by Lazy Mary Productions.
Told from a jail cell, the award-winning musical, Doing Time with Lavinia is the raucously boozy tale of Lavinia Draper, fallen socialite and one-time stand-by for Broadway star Betty Buckley, who is eternally chasing her pipe dream of becoming an entertainer. This hilarious take on self-sabotage brings new meaning to the words “making lemonade out of lemons”
Written and performed by Susan Campanaro, with an original emotionally charged score written and performed by Lynn Portas. The infamous Lavinia Draper is a character that Ms. Campanaro has developed through her 20 plus years’ experience as a NYC gay night-life headline performer. Susan (and Lavinia) have performed all over the USA including such iconic places as the Stonewall Inn, Greenwich Village, The Ice Palace in Cherry Grove and Denver Pride.
Individual tickets are $30, VIP tickets (which include premium table seating for two) are $80. Five VIP tables are available. Purchase advance tickets online at rehobothfilm.com or at the Cinema Art Theater box office in Lewes, Wednesday-Sunday from 12:00 Noon to 5:00 PM.
