“Minari,” is a remarkably unique drama about a Korean-American family moving to a farm in a rural region of Arkansas. The Yi family embarks on a new life in search of their own American dream with the hopes of growing Korean produce. The home changes completely with the arrival of their sly, foul-mouthed, but incredibly loving grandmother. Amidst the instability and challenges of this new life in the rugged Ozarks, “Minari” shows undeniable resilience and what really makes a home. The tender and sweeping film is the winner of the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival. [2020, US, 115 min, Rated: NR]. Carlos Aguilar of “The Wrap” exclaims “Count ‘Minari’ among the very best movies of 2020 for all its endearing cheekiness and affecting virtues, the greatest among them being honoring human resilience.” Claudia Puig of “FilmWeek” pens, “I love this film...It's so specific and detailed, and yet like the best stories feels universal.” Venue: Cinema Art Theater. Presenter: Rehoboth Beach Film Society.
