Book Signing with Local Author at Peninsula Gallery

Peninsula Gallery is pleased to be hosting an exclusive book signing with local author Allyson Rice for the release of her debut novel “The Key to Circus-Mom Highway.” On Saturday, January 14 from 4-5:30 pm, Allyson Rice will be at the Peninsula Gallery to discuss her book, read an excerpt, and sign copies for patrons.       In an attempt to secure an unexpected inheritance — and hopefully find a few answers — two estranged sisters and their newly discovered brother embark on a comically surreal trip through the Deep South to retrace the life of the mother who abandoned them. This uproarious debut novel is a reminder that sometimes, the family you’d never have chosen may turn out to be exactly what you need.       Allyson Rice is a writer, mixed media artist, and producer living in Rehoboth Beach, DE. A graduate of Northwestern University, Allyson spent many years as a working actress, her longest role being Connor Walsh on As the World Turns. The next decade was spent running yoga, meditation, creativity, and women’s retreats around the country until she pivoted to focus on her own creative work.      Allyson wrote, directed, produced, and performed in the comedy rap music video “Fine, I’ll Write My Own Damn Song,” which won multiple awards throughout the film festival circuit. She also has collections of women’s coloring books and handmade jewelry, as well as a creative and inspirational card deck.       “The Key to Circus-Mom Highway” by Allyson Rice was released on January 3, 2023 by The Total Human Press. The novel is for purchase at all major booksellers and is available in paperback, e-book, and audiobook formats.        A reception will be held on Saturday, January 14, from 4-5:30 pm at Peninsula Gallery to celebrate the release of Rice’s “The Key to Circus-Mom Highway.” Rice will read an extract from the novel at 4:30, followed by a book signing.
