2nd Annual Paint Laurel Plein Air

The 2nd Annual Paint Laurel Plein Air is part of the One Laurel, One Day community event held on May 20, 2023 in historic Laurel, DE,

All artists working en plein air in oil, acrylic, pastel, and watercolors are invited to set-up their easels to capture the picturesque town and beautiful surrounding farms and natural areas on a spring day. This fun, informal painting event in the morning will be followed by an opportunity for artists and visitors to view and purchase the finished art work during a “wet paint” art-walk and sale along the banks of the Broad Creek in Janosik Park. Artists will also be treated to a catered luncheon during the art-walk on Saturday afternoon.

Artists wishing to get a head-start on selecting their scene are invited to a reception on Friday, May 19 from 6 to 8 p.m., which will also include a tour of the town aboard an iconic painted “watermelon bus” hosted by knowledgeable local guides.

Participating artists are asked to pay a $20 registration fee, which entitles them to take part in the temporary “wet paint” exhibit and sale as well as enjoy the provided meals. In addition, there will be a total of $1,500 in cash awards.
