DESCRIPTION:In honor of Delaware’s 250th milestone\, this dynamic\,\nmult
 i-disciplinary event celebrates the profound role the arts have\nplayed in
  shaping the First State — and imagines the creative future\nstill to co
 me. Blending conversation and performance\, the evening will\nfeature enga
 ging speakers alongside live performances by an\nextraordinary lineup of D
 elaware artists representing music\, poetry\,\ndance\, and spoken word. To
 gether\, they will explore how the arts\nreflect who we are\, where we’v
 e been\, and where we’re headed over\nthe next 250 years. Acclaimed Dela
 ware spoken word artist G Dash Jones\nwill serve as our Master of Ceremoni
 es. Delaware Humanities Executive\nDirector\, Michele Anistine\, will serv
 e as our panel moderator. A\ncenterpiece of the celebration will feature s
 elections from The United\nSounds of America by Delaware composer Mark Hag
 erty\, performed by the\nSODELO Orchestra alongside The Twin Poets\, sopra
 no Makeda Hampton\, and\nJonathon Whitney — all distinguished Delaware a
 rtists. This\ncollaborative work reflects the rich musical traditions that
  define\nboth our state and our nation. The orchestra will also perform\n
 “Coastal Delaware Suite\,” an original work by SODELO musician\nBrian 
 Cox — a vibrant four-movement musical journey through the\nseaside charm
  of Lewes\, Rehoboth Beach\, Dewey Beach and Bethany Beach\,\nwith each mo
 vement capturing the history\, spirit and unique character\nof these belov
 ed coastal towns. The evening will also include a\nspecial cultural presen
 tation by drummers of the Nanticoke Indian\nTribe. Bonnie Hall\, a proud m
 ember of the tribe\, will share remarks\nhonoring the enduring cultural le
 gacy and artistic traditions of\nDelaware’s Native communities. The expr
 essive power of movement will\nbe highlighted through a performance by Ash
 ley SK Davis’ Pieces of a\nDream\, Inc.\, further showcasing the depth a
 nd diversity of artistic\nexcellence rooted in Delaware. Free and open to 
 the public\, this\ncelebratory gathering invites the community to reflect 
 on 250 years of\nartistic influence — and to envision the next chapter o
 f creativity\nin Delaware. Through music\, poetry\, dance\, and dialogue\,
