 opera with the finest voices in Wilmington at\naffordable prices. Today\, 
 our patrons are geographically and\nculturally as diverse as ever\, stretc
 hing across the East Coast while\nat the same time reaching deeply into ou
 r Wilmington roots. Located in\nthe heart of Wilmington\, we serve the ent
 ire metropolitan area.\nOperaDelaware is the only professional opera compa
 ny in the state and\nthe 11th oldest in the country. It is a source of eco
 nomic\nrevitalization and a source of arts education for many schools in t
 he\narea that have none. The company employs nearly 250 full- and\npart-ti
 me local artists and staffers throughout the season and\noperates on an $8
 00K annual budget. Artists we have nurtured have\nperformed in major house
 s throughout the world. We have been the\nrecipient of major grants from n
 ational and local organizations and\nhave received numerous awards and rec
