SUMMARY:Joe Baione Quintet
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:International Jazz Vibraphonist – The Joe Baione Vibraphone\n
ExperienceThe relative rarity of vibraphonists in the history of jazz\nrem
ains one of the musical genre’s true mysteries. Despite the\nnatural bea
uty of the instrument’s sound and the historical\nimportance and celebra
ted popularity of its most famous players –\nLionel Hampton\, Milt Jacks
on and Bobby Hutcherson – comparatively\nfew artists have chosen to make
the vibraphone their primary means of\nexpression. Fortunately\, Joe Baio
ne shows that the vibes and the\nmallets with which he plays them are in v
ery good hands. A native of\nthe state of Delaware\, Baione grew up in a j
azz drenched musical\nenvironment. Today\, he is a passionate and creative
band teacher by\nday and an energetic and innovative band leader and perf
ormer at\nnight. Baione is also the Assistant Stage Manager for the Delawa
re\nState Fair for all of the headline concerts. Baione left the\ninternat
ional and national scene the past 10 years\, though still\nperforming regi
onally and some nationally and local. The reason for\nthis was Baione was
never home to build a future with his wife Paige\nand watch his kids grow
up and the love for his family had to come\nfirst. Now that his kids have
grown\, Baione is close to retirement in\nteaching and ready to produce hi
s third recording and perform all over\nthe world full time. The jazz worl
d and radio hosts have been itching\nfor Baione to return to the scene ful
l time to pursue his dream. Joe\nBaione has performed at some of the most
prestigious festivals and\nvenues in the world\, too many to name\, but so
me include Trinidad Jazz\nand Steelpan Festival\, Rochester Int. Jazz Fest
ival\, Clearwater Jazz\nHoliday\, Jacksonville Jazz Festival\, Jamaica Jaz
 z and Blues Festival\,\nDizzy’s Club Coca-Cola\, The Iridium NYC\, The K
immel Center\, The\nFreeman State and the Rehoboth Autumn Jazz Festival\,
just to name a\nfew. Joe also loves to give back to the community and stil
l do local\noutdoor concert series to preserve and support live music. Ven
 ue:\nMilton Theatre.
